Booking & Payments.
How do I book?
Simply complete our booking enquiry form. We'll confirm availability, answer any questions you have, and help you choose the perfect motorcycle and dates for your adventure.
Is my booking instantly confirmed?
No. Every booking is personally reviewed to ensure we can provide the best possible experience for every guest.
How much deposit is required?
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your booking. The remaining balance is payable prior to your arrival.
What happens if I need to cancel?
The booking deposit is non-refundable. If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible and we'll always do our best to help. If we fully replace your booking we guarantee to provide a full credit that may be used to rebook a date within 6 months of the original booking.
Riding
What riding experience do I need?
Our holidays are designed for riders who already have experience riding motorcycles on both road and off-road tracks.
You don't need to be an expert enduro rider, but confidence riding on loose surfaces is recommended.
If you're unsure whether Horizon Rider is right for you, simply ask—we're always happy to advise.
Is this a guided tour?
No.
Horizon Rider specialises in self-guided adventure holidays.
You'll ride at your own pace using our exclusive Horizon Adventure Tracks (HATs) navigation network. Every bike is fully fitted with a navigation tower, a navigation device pre-loaded with all our HATS trails. Advice is always available and we can advise potential pitfalls and challenges along any particular routing combination.
No pressure.
No schedules.
Just adventure.
Can I ride alone?
Absolutely.
Many of our guests travel solo, while others arrive with friends or partners. If you do choose to ride solo we advise you to ask us to activate our tracking devices onboard. We hope you never need it, but it won’t hurt!
How difficult are the routes?
That's entirely up to you.
The HATs Network includes everything from relaxed scenic rides to super challenging mountain adventures.
We'll happily recommend routes based on your riding experience and confidence.
What if I get into difficulty?
We'll make sure you're fully prepared before you leave.
If something unexpected happens during your ride, we're only a phone call away though in case of a genuine emergency call 112 immediately. We are not a fully kitted rescue service.
Our Motorcycles
Are these standard motorcycles?
No.
Every Horizon Rider motorcycle has been carefully developed specifically for adventure riding in Cyprus.
Many feature upgraded suspension, improved ergonomics, reduced weight, navigation equipment and carefully selected accessories that genuinely improve the riding experience.
These aren't showroom motorcycles.
They're Horizon Rider motorcycles.
Why have you modified the motorcycles?
Every modification has one purpose...
To make your riding holiday better.
Some bikes have upgraded suspension.
Some have improved ergonomics.
Some have reduced weight.
Some have increased power.
Nothing is fitted simply because it looks good.
Every modification has been tested because it genuinely improves comfort, confidence or capability.
Why don't you just leave the bikes standard?
Because we ride them too.
Every improvement began with exactly the same thought...
"There has to be a better way."
If something genuinely improves the riding experience, we'll test it.
If it works, we'll fit it.
If it doesn't...
We won't.
Our goal isn't to build the most expensive motorcycles.
Our goal is to build the best motorcycles for exploring Cyprus.
Why don't you use BMW GS motorcycles?
It's one of the questions we're asked most often.
The answer is simple...
Because we believe the best adventure motorcycle isn't necessarily the biggest or the most expensive one.
Many riders arrive expecting to ride large adventure bikes because that's what they're used to at home.
Then they spend a week on one of our carefully prepared motorcycles and discover something unexpected.
They're lighter.
They're easier to handle.
They're less intimidating off-road.
They're simply more enjoyable on Cyprus's mountain trails.
We've chosen our motorcycles because, after thousands of kilometres of testing, we genuinely believe they provide the best riding experience for this island.
For many of our guests, that's one of the biggest surprises of their holiday.

Can I change motorcycles during my holiday?
Whenever possible, yes. There is a change fee because we have to prepare a bike but we aren’t going to be unfair.
Subject to availability, many guests enjoy experiencing more than one motorcycle during their stay.
Just let us know and we'll do our best to arrange it.

Every motorcycle is carefully inspected and prepared before every guest arrives.
What's included in the toolkit?
Our aim is to provide the equipment most likely to keep your adventure moving should something unexpected happen.
Each model has been examined to review what tools are necessary; and then these are added to your kit. No useless spanners; No superfluous Torx Bits. Exactly whats necessary (For instance you can pretty much strip a Rieju using 2 Torx bits!!). You’ll receive:

If you're unfamiliar with any of the equipment, we'll happily explain everything before you set off.
What's not included?
We provide a full itinerary as if this were your own bike on an adventure. However, we ask guests arrange their own personal riding equipment and personal matters.
This includes:

Sleeping bag (Who’d want to climb inside a used bag after all)!

Do I need to book hotels each night?
No.
You'll stay at Horizon Rider throughout your holiday and enjoy a different adventure each day from your base in western Cyprus.
No packing every morning.
No constantly checking into different hotels.
Just ride.
Licences & Insurance
What licence do I need?
A full motorcycle licence valid and in date for the motorcycle you're hiring. Please check beforehand. This is not negotiable!
Depending on your country of residence, you may also require an International Driving Permit.
Is insurance included?
Third-party insurance is included.
Guests remain responsible for any damage caused to the motorcycle during their hire period.
Full details will be provided before booking.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes.
A refundable security deposit is required before your motorcycle is released. If its by Credit Card we will pre-authorise. If not then funds will be taken via debit card and refunded on return assuming damage has been avoided.
We aren’t ogres at Horizon Rider. Damage is at cost.
Travel
How do I get to Horizon Rider?
Most guests fly into Paphos International Airport, approximately 45 minutes away. Alternatively, Larnaca International Airport is approximately 2 hours by car.
We'll happily provide transfer advice before your arrival and we have reasonable taxi services we can ask. Alternatively, car hire is often the best option, especially in the low season.
What's the best time of year to visit?
Cyprus offers excellent riding conditions for much of the year.
Spring and autumn provide near-perfect temperatures.
Winter offers quiet roads and superb challenging riding. February and March can be wet.
We generally avoid the hottest weeks of summer but some riders enjoy exploring mountain areas where it is significantly cooler.
Do I need to bring my own riding gear?
Yes.
We recommend bringing the riding equipment you're most comfortable using.
If you have any questions before travelling, just ask.
HATs
What is HATs?
Horizon Adventure Tracks™ (HATs) is our own network of carefully curated adventure routes across Cyprus.
Unlike traditional point-to-point trails, HATs allows you to mix and match sections to create adventures ranging from a few hours to a full week.
Every kilometre has been personally ridden, refined and recommended by Horizon Rider.
Can I buy the HATs routes separately?
HATS is currently free to all.
General
Can my non-riding partner come?
Absolutely.
Many partners enjoy relaxing by the pool, exploring local villages or discovering the Akamas region while riders are out enjoying the trails. There are 4 large single beds in the property so consider this when booking.
How is Pricing calculated?
Our weekly prices are based on 4 riders sharing accomodation. For lower numbers this is entirely possible but there is a surcharge.
Can I come for less than a week?
Possibly.
A minimum stay is 4 nights during certain times of the year. Please contact us to discuss this.
